My Favorite Things
First and foremost, my favorite things are God, my husband and children, and the rest of my family and friends. There is nothing on this earth that is more important than the people that I love. That being said, here are a few of the other things I am fond of.
My studio! Oh my goodness, my studio is itself a work of art. It is especially special to me because my beautiful husband created it for me so that I would have my own space to be creative. Isn't it beautiful? I have room for creating everything my little heart desires, and if I am in the middle of a project when I have to stop what I am doing, all I have to do is close the door.
It is in this room that I am currently creating all of my jewelry designs. Right now I am working mainly with polymer clay and a plethora of beads that I purchase to go with my creations once they have been fired, but my goal is to combine the clay with some custom glass pieces for something really unique. See that kiln there on the counter? That was given to me by our very generous neighbor, Randy Glotfelty. Randy owns JenKen Kilns (near Lakeland airport), and when he learned that I was interested in working with glass, he brought me a kiln. Is that amazing or what? But that is what we have come to expect from our special neighbors. Randy's wife Karla has been watching out for me and keeping me fed this week while I've been laid up and Danny has been out of town. They have two beautiful teenagers and are a wonderful family and a real blessing to us!
The second photo is of the opposite side of my studio. This is where I enjoy doing some of my writing. There is a beautiful view out the window of the palm trees that Danny has planted, and it makes it a nice place to sit and reflect. Danny is quite the landscaper, and our yard has become a real paradise!
So there you have it - my first installment of my favorite things!
